Certified Apartment Property Supervisor (CAPS)
The CAPS program is tailored to meet the unique needs of the multifamily professional in a property supervisory role. The CAPS program was recently re-written to include up to the minute information.
Requirements include completion of all modules, receiving a passing grade on all exams, and having a minimum of two (2) years of multiple properties supervisory experience or a Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) designation and two (2) years of general property management experience. Students have two years to complete the designation process. Upon completing all requirements, candidate submits a designation application to NAA.
CAPS course modules are: Financial Management, Evaluation/Acquisition/Renovation, Marketing, Property Maintenance, Legal Issues, Risk Management, Human Resource Management, and Adding Value with Technology.

Enroll now in the elite National Apartment Association’s CAPS program. If you have two years of Multi-site experience or a CAM, ARM or RAM designation with two years industry experience, you can qualify as a candidate for this prestigious designation. Certified Apartment Manager (CAM)

To become a CAM, complete all CAM courses and pass all exams, submit and receive a satisfactory grade on an Apartment Community Analysis and have one year of apartment management experience. Students have two years to complete designation process.
CAM course modules are: Management for Residential Issues, Financial Management, Fair Housing, Risk Management, Marketing, Legal Responsibilities, Maintenance for Managers, Human Resource Management, Adding Value with Technology and Community Analysis.

Certified Apartment Supplier (CAS)
Stand out from the competition with a CAS designation. This program allows suppliers to learn from their customers and increase their professionalism by improving their knowledge of residential property management.

To become a Certified Apartment Supplier, sign an agreement not to solicit in the classroom, complete the three required and one elective Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) courses and pass all exams. Students have two years to complete the designation process.
Required CAS course modules: CAM Marketing, CAM Risk Management and CAM Financial Management.
Choose one elective module from: Management for Residential Issues, Fair Housing, Legal Responsibilities, Maintenance for Managers, Human Resource Management and Adding Value with Technology.

National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP)
Today’s leasing professional has greater opportunities, but also greater responsibility and accountability. The NALP designation program teaches skills necessary to become a top-producing professional.

To become an NALP, complete all classes, pass all exams, present a market survey project and have six months experience. Students have one year to complete the designation process.
NALP course modules are: Orientation and Keys to Success, Leasing and the Internet, Telephone Techniques, Leasing Interview and Qualifying, Rental Policies and Procedures, Leasing Demo and Resolving Objections, Legal Aspects and a Market Survey Presentation.
NALP (for Leasing Professionals)
BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE. Your leasing skills always need to be ready for today’s market challenges. This National Apartment Association designation program is focused on our needs as a leasing professional and will prepare you for success as a leasing superstar. Comprehensive training includes: Keys to Success, Telephone Presentations, Interviewing and Qualifying, Legal Aspects, Fair Housing, Rental Policies and Procedures, Leasing and the Internet, Leasing Presentation, Resolving Objections and Market Surveys.
This program is ideal for those who have recently joined the industry and want to learn while acquiring their experience or as an in-depth refresher for leasing professionals.
Requirements for the designation include completion of the NALP curriculum and fulfillment of 6 months experience. Candidates have one year to complete all requirements.

AAGD is proud to offer the National Apartment Association’s Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician designation— New CAMT Program 2008
This program is offered to maintenance professionals who want to:
* Increase technical, business and personal development skills
* Earn the CAMT certification
*Improve on the job performance
This training has both classroom and online training components.
New CAMT Training includes seven courses: the five technical courses consist of hands-on classroom training followed by online practice scenarios, and the
2 non-technical courses.
NON-TECHNICAL COURSES:
The two non-technical on-line courses are taught classroom. After learning new content in each course you will go through a set of scenarios as a class which evaluates the performance of maintenance technicians in the video clips realistic situations, then rate them on a set of criteria related to the learning points in the course.

TECHNICAL COURSES:
The five technical courses take place in the classroom; core concepts and procedures, to hands-on activities. After each course, maintenance technicians
will view online in class through practice scenarios for that course. Maintenance Technicians role play realistic scenarios, decisions to prioritize, diagnose and repair problems just as on the job.

5. Interior and Exterior Maintenance and Repair
Note: Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Maintenance and Repair: Part 2 with Seer 13 will be a CAMT requirement.
HOW TO OBTAIN A CAMT DESIGNATION:
Apply for candidacy upon enrolling in the CAMT course.
Complete all CAMT classes, pass one online required exam and have one year of apartment experience.
Students have 2 years to complete the professional Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) designation.
NAAEI requires a Designation Candidate Enrollment Form for every student entering the designation course program. Completing the enrollment form on NAA Web-site is the first critical step in the process. Please register at www.NAAHQ.ORG Student Enrollment
You must use your NAA User ID number and password throughout the designation process including taking the exam.
TO MAINTAIN A CAMT DESIGNATION YOU MUST: pay annual renewal dues for $50.00 and beginning your second year renewal, report completion of three Continuing Education Credits (CECs) for the preceding year. (Each January, NAAEI mails designates an invoice, a CEC reporting form and complete information about CEC requirements.)

Scholarship
The outstanding student of the CAMT program will be awarded scholarship dollars from AAGD’s Education Foundation. Award will be presented to outstanding student based on 50% grades, 25% attendance and 25% participation. Award will be exact reimbursement of amount paid to person or entity making payment

NAA DESIGNATION ENROLLMENT INSTRUCTIONS
The Designations of the National Apartment Association (NAA) are the premier offerings for multi-family housing professionals, and they are a recognized and respected mark of excellence throughout the industry. Congratulations on your decision to distinguish yourself with a national designation.
All student enrollments must be completed and submitted online. Follow these instructions:
• Log onto www.naahq.org
• Find “NAAEI Designations on the left side of the page
• Click on Designation Enrollment Form
• Read the page
• In the bottom paragraph, click on the blue link “Student Designations Enrollment Form”
• Log In (If you don’t have a password, follow the instructions)
• Read the page
• Scroll down and complete the information
• Click submit
A confirmation page appears with your name, ID and password. PRINT the page. You MUST bring this information to the first class. It is mandatory to have your student ID # the first day of class; otherwise, your test cannot be sent in for grading. NAA will not accept it.
Again, I cannot stress this enough, be sure to bring the print out to the class for which you registered.

More and more apartment owners and investors are asking specifically for NAA designated Certified Apartment Managers to fill their staffing needs. The CAM program focuses on enhancing the skills of the apartment manager, resulting in better managed and more profitable rental properties, improved resident retention rates, increased employee productivity and a more confident, fulfilled employee.
Other Programs
The Apartment and Rental Housing Legal Seminars are held every other year, usually in the first quarter, coinciding with changes made to the TAA Redbook. The TAA Lease seminar is typically held every year. Fair Housing Seminars are normally held twice a year, in the fall and in the spring. Hot Topic workshops and seminars are held as the need arises.
