Professional Designation Programs

NATIONAL APARTMENT ASSOCIATION (NAA) DESIGNATE CLASSES

We encourage our applicants to complete all the classes for their NAA Designation, but realize some individuals may prefer to take one or more stand alone modules without receiving the NAA designation.  Call the Education Department (972-385-9091) for individual module class prices.

To receive the NAA Designation, NALP must be completed in a year and CAMT, CAM / CAS and CAPS must be completed within two years.


CAMT (Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician II)

Schedule: 
September16 through November 11, classes concluded
November 13-- Interior and Exterior Maintenance and Repair
December 4, CAMT part 2, requirement for CAMT

This program focuses on the needs of the current property service team members, as well as those who would like to move into maintenance or those who are new maintenance technicians.  Enrollment will enhance your career by demonstrating your commitment to education and higher standards of excellence.

 

Requirements:  Must have worked in the apartment industry for at least 12 months, successfully complete the nine courses, and meet the examination requirement within 24 months of declaring your candidacy.


CAPS (Certified Apartment Property Supervisor)

February 17 – Legal
March 24 – Risk Management
April 21 – Human Resource Management
May 12 – Adding Value with Technology

Competition is fierce in the multi-housing industry.  A National Apartment Association Designation earned through a Supervisor program offers enhanced opportunities for the multi-site supervisor.  Build your success through knowledge and professionalism.  Enroll now in the elite National Apartment Association’s CAPS program. 

Requirements:  Worked as a multi-site supervisor for 24 months or be a CAM designate in good standing with 24 months of management experience; complete the 8 course modules, meet examination requirements, and complete the CAPS Designation Application.   Candidates have two years to complete all requirements.  Courses may be taken individually without applying for an NAA designation.


CAM (Certified Apartment Manager)

Suppliers are important liaisons to the multifamily housing industry, and are vitally important to the success of every community.  CAS is designed as an opportunity for suppliers to hear the everyday challenges faced by the apartment manager and affords them the opportunity to interface with industry professionals who are seeking the CAM Designation. 

Requirements: You must have worked in the apartment industry at least 12 months, successfully complete the three required courses, and one of the elective courses from the CAM Class, and meet the examination requirements within 24 months of declaring your candidacy for CAS.


NALP (National Apartment Leasing Professional)

March 26, 2009 – Telephone Techniques & Leasing Interview & Qualifying

BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE!  This National Apartment Association Designation Program is focused on the needs of a leasing professional and will prepare the candidate for success as a leasing superstar.  Leasing Professionals are the first people prospective residents meet and often their only gauge of the on–site staff.  The NALP Designation will bring confidence to the recipient because it exposes them to the foundations of leasing procedures and prepares them for the leasing professional’s roles and responsibilities.  This program is ideal for those who have recently joined the industry and want to learn while acquiring their experience or as an in-depth refresher for leasing professionals. 

Requirements:   Worked in the apartment industry for 6 months, complete the 7 courses, deliver a Market Survey presentation, pass the final exam and fulfill 6 months experience.  Candidates have one year to complete all requirements.
